Collection: Norma Deal

Self-taught artist, who has a good eye for color and composition, specializes in
oil and mixed media, painting in an impressionist style.

Her first encounter with art started in grade school at which time drawing and
painting was her main subject and this became inevitable through the years.

Moved to Fripp Island, SC in 1990, then relocated to Hilton Head Island in 1992 at
which time became interested in painting the beautiful lowcountry scenes. Developed
a deep interest in the very unique Gullah tradition, inspiring her to paint a series of folk art.

Being from NC, she is drawn to paint the beautiful mountains and lakes, therefore,
her work is extremely varied from the coast to the mountains. She quotes, “It is extremely
difficult for me to repeat a painting to capture the original color and technique”.

Paintings are shown and sold locally and have been viewed and purchased in other
sections of the country. Work is also done on a commissioned basis.
