Collection: Carol C. Hartley
Carol (1946 - 2025) worked in oil, pastel, and photography. From an early age, her life was shaped by imagination and artistry. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Swain School of Design in Massachusetts and later received her Georgia Teaching Certificate in Art. Over the course of 31 years, she taught art in the public school system, where her classroom became a place of inspiration and encouragement for generations of students.
A descendant of renowned illustrator Charles Dana Gibson, Carol inherited not only the talent of her ancestors but also their passion. She brought that legacy to life in every painting, every lesson, and every community she touched. In 2010, Carol founded “Picasso For A Night,” a creative painting experience that quickly became a local favorite in Savannah and Richmond Hill. Through these workshops, she created a welcoming space where people of all skill levels could connect with their inner artist and leave with both a painting and a smile. Her classes were filled with joy, energy, and the same warmth she brought to all aspects of her life.
